You have a musty odor in your home or vehicle. The summer has been humid and you notice black areas on the walls of your basement. Or, it rained into a window of your vehicle and it now smells musty. These are just a couple of the problems that we treat almost everyday in the summer.

Odor Medicine O.F. Concentrate has proven to be very effective in treating Mold and Mildew. It kills the spores it comes in direct contact with and permanently eliminates the odor. The key to success is to get enough O.F. solution in direct contact with the contamination. A pump-up sprayer that is normally used for insecticides and can be bought at any Home Depot or Lowes for around $25 is needed to spray the solution on all contaminated surfaces. Floors and walls in basements are always suspect, especially if the area is damp. 

We always recommend putting a dehumidifier in for a few days to see if that helps the odor. In any case, all basements should have a dehumidifier running in the summer. We have had several basement situations where we could not determine the source of the odor, and have treated the floors and the walls to see what would happen. In almost every case the odor was eliminated or vastly improved. Sometimes the contamination is not visible, and treating the exposed surfaces is the answer.

If the mold and mildew are inside of a wall, O.F. will not be effective because it cannot come in direct contact with the contamination. The other area to treat in a basement are the floor joists and the underside of the floor of the room above if they are exposed. concrete is very porous so be sure to apply enough so that it soaks in.
